Bouzov castle and Mladeč Caves

Bouzov Castle

Full of Fairy-Tales

The romantic and popular castle of Bouzov, with its countless spires, towers and bastions towering in the middle of the deep forest, is one of the most charming castles in this country. Many kings and princesses passed through its two drawbridges above the moat, as the castle has appeared in numerous films and television fairy tales. Honestly speaking, the castle is only a perfect imitation of a medieval residence. Actually, its construction began as late as in 1895 on the foundations of the original medieval castle from the 14 th century. Visitors may choose from among several tours. Among many amusing events that take place in the castle, Ballons above the castle is sure to please everyone.

Mladečské Caves

Connected to the History of Mankind

People already knew of this cave in the primeval age, which is clearly evidenced by a number of archaeological excavations. Apart from human skeletons, archaeologists here have found various stone artefacts, tools and fire places. The caves are situated not far from the Litovelské Pomoraví nature reserve. The complex labyrinth of corridors and caves richly decorated with stalactites and sinter bulges interlaces the limestone hill Třesín. The most beautiful parts include the „Temple of Nature“ and the „Virgin Cave“.
